Castles and Fortresses is an analysis of the creation of different spaces throughout the medieval era, from the XI to XV centuries. The fortified structures were created to protect those who were inside against inclement weather, animals, and enemies. Many of the floor plan shapes were the result of the respective site and topographies upon which they were built. The sculptures made in concrete or marble are not a direct replica of the castles themselves, but rather the entire area belonging to the castle territory. The work, therefore, raises questions surrounding the process behind castle and territory demarcation, as well the influence of new knowledge in the construction space leading to a change in the format of elements like towers and edifices across times and countries.
